Dealing with feeling left behind
When people step off the train and move to the new city. Some of them are ambitious to conquer the whole city, while others simply wish for peace and a stable income. Therefore, the definition of success in each of us is completely different. As a consequence, it is my belief that If we know what we really want, know how to balance our lives, and stop comparing ourselves to others, we can completely overcome peer pressure as well as the feeling of being left behind.
Why do we feel left behind?
The feeling of being left behind always exists deep within us. And the reason for that problem is that when we see the stunning achievements of our peers, we tend to blame ourselves for not trying our best and not being as accomplished as them. Or more simply, when we see our friends going on luxurious check-in trips while we have to stay at home with a lot of deadlines, then the feeling of jealousy arises and we will feel incompetent when we can not complete the work and travel like them.
In short, comparing yourself with others and not knowing how to balance your emotions is the main cause of feeling left behind.

The feeling of being left behind is scarier than you think
Since this is a series of articles about peer pressure, I will mention the feeling of being left behind because of peer pressure. Peer pressure is the impact and influence of people of the same age or the same social group who are considered more successful and happier for an individual. This can cause feelings such as low self-esteem, insecurity, and anxiety in people under pressure.
Therefore, affected individuals often feel inferior and left behind. This can cause feelings such as low self-esteem, insecurity, anxiety, and even depression.

How to overcome this feeling
1. Stop comparing
Each of us is a unique individual, with our own life purpose and missions to carry. So instead of comparing ourselves with others, we should reflect on our own strengths and weaknesses. From there we can give ourselves the most appropriate plan to achieve success in life.
2. Learn how to balance emotion
Learning how to balance our emotions will help us become happier and more optimistic, and love this life more. "Not paying attention to negative things", "accepting your own shortcomings", and "being satisfied with what you have", if you can do those things, you can balance your emotions and have a happier life.
3. Trust and comprehend yourself

Each person is a unique individual, everyone has their own strengths as well as drawbacks. Therefore, you do not need to follow the general trend to integrate. Instead, think and acknowledge your strengths, from there you will be able to discover your passion and pursue that passion to succeed.
4. Love yourself
Sometimes peer pressure as well as feeling left behind causes many people to constantly try and make efforts to keep up with friends but forget to take time for themselves. Therefore, you still have to take good care of yourself, regularly relax, exercise, and reward yourself with small gifts to motivate yourself to continue growing.
