About us

Hello readers,

We are 4 guys with a blog. This blog was initially a part of our university assignment for Business Communications, but we sincerely hope that over time, this could be something more than that. Our main focus would be about the effects of peer pressure on today's youth, how to cope with it (and to some degree, the bits and pieces of today's lifestyle in general). The name of the blog, The Nonconformists, is based on the idea that in today’s world, people are forced to adhere to certain standards in order to fit in, so in order to avoid suffering from such pressure, people will have to not conform to the rules.

Of course, we cannot forget about the members of the team.

Our group is called PTPT, because it is the acronym based on the names of our group members.

First off is Tu, the current head of our group.

Hello everyone, when talking about peer pressure I have some sharings. First of all, each of us is a unique individual, with our own life purpose and missions to carry. When people step off the train and move to the new city. Some of them are ambitious to conquer the whole city, while others simply wish for peace and a stable income. Therefore, the definition of success in each of us is completely different.

As a result, from my point of view, when we know how to love ourselves more, know how to balance our emotions, and get out of comparing ourselves with superior individuals, we can escape peer pressure. And I hope that our blog can support you to get over peer pressure and farther to have a better life. “

Then, we have Thinh - the talkative guy of the group

Hi, it is true that I talk a lot about stuff surrounding me but it is just the case when I'm with my buddies and family. I’m really a big fan of social knowledge. What I mean is I really love to find out more about trivial things in our daily life. Honestly, I’m quite good at observing and understanding stories of others, so I have quite precious experience about many aspects of society, which may do more harm than good to the mental health of students of my age, I guess!

However, my elaborate observation during the time at schools has helped me a lot in gaining a deeper understanding of peer pressure. I hope that my experience will be reliable and useful for you guys.”

Then, we have Ngoc Phi, the de facto content director of the blog.

Hello everyone, the name’s Phi, and as of right now, I am the main admin of this blog (since it was created using my email).

Being the only guy to not come from the same regions with my other groups, to say that I am anxious about not fitting in with the others is somewhat of an understatement. I personally believe this is the same situation for many others of my age. Hence, I hope that my experiences will be relatable, and my insights will be useful to you guys.”

Finally we have Phuc, the minimalist tech guy in the group

Hi everyone, When someone asks any Saigonese like me about the life condition in Saigon, they will mostly receive the similar answers such as complicated, stressed and a lot of pressure for both adults and children. The adults have to face financial problems in their family, so they can easily feel annoyed and get angry in daily life. And I realized that I and other youths are facing this too. It is usually a burden for me when I fall behind. However, I think that peer pressure can be positive in some situations. For me, this issue can be the motivation to make me become better to reach the higher version of myself. And I hope that you guys can make the troubles become the motivation to push yourself ahead. Only that way can make you feel stronger and easier to overcome those troubles.”

We hope that you will have a good stay here, and maybe even share your thoughts in the process!

The Nonconformists team.
